Most effective approaches to language learning and multilingualism
The most effective language learning and multilingualism techniques was mentioned by Tin Doner as the Method of Loci. Being a visual-spatial learner and thinker I use my imagination to assign new words of objects and spaces I well familiar with. This method is very effective when I am at the very first stages of a language hereby I am memorizing the translation to object names (Doner, 2014). This also helps me develop the relationship between objects thus helping me understand the language better. Get legit paper writing services now!
Mechanisms for maintaining your second language abilities
I have realized that retaining what I have learnt is just as challenging as the learning process. I therefore have to continue practicing what I have learnt in order to retain in and ultimately understand it better. The effective method for me in this case is speaking the language to the people around me as well as the native speakers. When am in my everyday activities especially in the company of close peers I take pleasure in pointing out how a given word, phrase and sentence would be said in the foreign language such as Mandarin and Swahili. The optimal method would be speaking the language with a native speakers who are usually eager to correct me.
Approaches advocated in the videos; Chineasy
I judge the approaches suggested in the videos depending on how familiar and easier to adopt they are. Therefore the ideal approach for me would be whether one that I have use in the past in the process of learning a language in the past. I think that “Chineasy” was a very effective method of learning the Chinese language gradually especially through the initial stages. This is especially due to the fact that it assigned the characters to everyday activities and objects. This would be a more effective method than the Method of Loci as I have been utilizing in the past.
